Eight ARM reservists killed near Ljubotenski Bacila in 2001 remembered

Skopje, August 10 (MIA) - Family members, friends, former combatants, government, military and other delegations marked Monday the eight-year anniversary since the killing of eight army reservists near the village of Ljuboten during the 2001 conflict.

On behalf of the Government, Minister of Education and Science Nikola Todorov, Minister of Information Society Ivo Ivanovski and Deputy Defense Minister Emil Dimitriev paid respect to the decreased soldiers. Representatives of the Macedonian Army and President's cabinet also laid flowers at a monument erected in soldiers' honor in the village of Ljuboten.

Flowers were also laid in honor of the army reservists at a monument in Volkovo village.

On 10 August 2001, an ARM vehicle on the road to Ljubotenski Bacila site crossed over a landmine, which claimed the lives of Tome Badarovski, Goce Cankulovski, Branko Janev, Tomislav Nastevski, Marjanco Boskovski, Ivica Zlatevski, Tome Dimovski and Rade Jankovski, all of them ARM reservists.
